Hin und wieder Produktion von längeren Dokus krake ak kraak Coming out of the squatters movement in east-berlin during the begining of the 90ies, ak kraak still considers itself as a confused gang of young urban videoactivists, of comical camcorder commandantes and elderly lovers of critical riotclips. With it´s videotape-magazin, which is not regularly published, but distributed germany wide, ak kraak offers different political initiatives of the radical / subcultural left a space on it´s tape and covers local and international actions and campaigns from the anti-nuclear movement in the Wendland to the movement of the Zapatistas in Chiapas. With it`s strange mixture of short clips, bad jokes, and critical documentaries the magazin functions not only as an entertaining, alternative family-tv, but also as a moment of discussion in between different subcultural and political groups, as a true mindbending counterinformation-machine in the homevideo-department. Besides the magazin ak kraak also produces longer single-issue documentaries, especially in relation to the anti-globalization-movement. latest videoproductions: >> Bush comes Berlin (may 2002, 8min) Bad, anti-american agit-trash >> Genova 2001 (2001, 30 min) Roughcut >> ak kraak No. 21 (2001, 30min) Magazin with topics like: indymedia germany, 1st of May worldwide, protests against the Castor-trains, which carry nuclear waste to the Wendland, german asylumseekers fighting for their right of free movement in Germany, a special bordercamp-action and the protests against the Wold Economic Forum in Davos (>> loading Davos) etc. >> penickerstra (2000, 50 min) A reality soap on the famous, formerly squatted house in East-Berlin. >> Love, Peace & Petrolbombs (2001, 30 min) On the protests against the IMF- and Worlbank-meeting in Praque. www.akkraak.squat.net contact: akkraak@squat.net akkraak kastanienallee 77 10435 berlin tel & fax: +49-(0)30-44047458 |
